Not a Card...

That is the challenge today on Dottie's World. Louise set the challenge this week and this is what she wanted:

Make something using one of the download images that isn't a card. Simple!

I decided upon a Halloween clipboard, and it gave me the chance to work with those wonderful Halloween colours again.

My main image was the Motley Crew from the Halloween Download.

Here's a little Dottie border created with Flying Witch Dottie from the Halloween download.

Products used:

• Dottie & George Halloween Download
• Clipboard blackened with ink.
• K & Company Halloween Die-cut shapes. The frog is from the self-adhesive chipboard pack.
• Large eyelets from my Crop-a-dile pack
• Twine (own stash)
• Black Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue
• Doodlebug Sequin Flowers
• Imaginisce Hallowhimsy Epoxy Brad and Studded webs
• Prima Ribbon (for the corner), mixed ribbons and fibres for the top.

Going Green

I set the challenge on Dottie's World for today and this was it:

Everything today is focused on environmental issues, so lets GO GREEN! Show me how green you can get! But this is a green dish with a few extra ingredients, sprinkle it with three buttons or brads, season with a little ribbon, and finally add that special little "recycled something. Plus of course it must contain at least one Charmed Cards & Crafts download".

So with these requirements in mind I made two cards:

• GREEN Ribbon is K&Co Margo Felt Ribbon
• The "RECYCLED SOMETHING" is pink Scrabble letters from my daughters' old Scrabble set.
• GREEN double-sided papers from K&Co's Halloween Mat Pad
  

The Rub-ons are also K&Co Halloween, and the Haunted House Journalling piece inside (also green) is from the Imaginisce Hallowhimsy Toe Tags Sheet.

This second card has a green country feel to it, which ties in nicely with the "go green" theme.

• The "RECYCLED SOMETHING" is a flower I removed from one of the girl's old summer hats.

Dottie and George on Layouts

I realised earlier that I have never seen any of our downloads used on layouts, yet they present a unique way of adding fun and innovative design to any scrapbook page. I therefore seized the chance to use the new Halloween Collection created by Louise Brigden and two of the designs from there, "Flying with Dottie" and "Ghost George". I keep harping on about this but once again it demonstrates how versatile these downloads are as you are able to create just the size that you want.

By the way, how many pictures do you take of your projects before you are happy with the outcome (if ever you ARE happy with the outcome that is)? I wont tell you how many I took for this one, the light was rubbish and I just couldn't get it right! As always it looks so much better "in the flesh".
