Masculine Lauderdale

Men are notoriously difficult to create for, but these days there are so many great papers you can use. Don't just look for golf/fishing and the likes; bold, striking colours and designs are fabulously suited for masculine themed project. I used the new Basic Grey Lauderdale 6x6 pad for my card here.

Don't be afraid to use sewing on your project. A random overlapping stitch around the edge for example is fun and quirky. I bought a little sewing machine from John Lewis a while ago and leave it set up just for paper crafting, here's the link for their mini sewing machine. It's a little gem really, so easy to use. Just remember not to glue edges together before sewing as it may gung up your machine. If you don't want to use a machine you could try the Sew Easy range from We R Memory Keepers. A variety of heads are available enabling great designs.

The inside has been decorated too. The shape is cut from a Spellbinders Nestabilities die.

Buttons and brads are Basic Grey. That large Birthday metal sentiment is available HERE. Tim Holtz "play" ticket.

I'll have a candy for you over the weekend so pop back then :-)

Father's Day Card

Just wanted to show you a card I made for Dottie's World, using the "George at Work" download bundle (ignore the additional eyeliner, I forgot to trim it lol).

Oh and here is one I made for Sunday's Challenge - Double-Up - using both Dottie and George.

Golfing George

Here is another card using the "George at Work" collection available on our website (click the Dottie blinkie in the sidebar). The George collections are fantastic for all your masculine cards, and lets face it, we all need a little help with those!

Layering used as always, as well as Glossy Accents.

Dottie's World

Louise Brigden, the mega talented creator of our new Dottie and George downloads, has created a blog just for our dynamic duo, Dottie's World. The blog will be filled with tips for using the downloads, as well as project ideas and challenges. Pop over and have a look.
As a contributor I have designed a series of digi hybrid cards for Dottie's World. Here is the first featuring "Green Fingered George" from the George at Work bundle.

Click the Dottie blinkie in the side bar to purchase the bundles. Pop back tomorrow when I will have another digi hybrid card to show you.

Another Card

I really love using pictures on cards. This one shows the adult recipient as a small boy. Masculine cards are quite difficult, this is a good one for a birthday card. It uses strong colours, yet with a soft edge. Don't think that all your masculine cards have to display sport, fishing or DIY!

Masculine Cards

Bit difficult those guys aren't they, and they take that right into card making. It's no coincidence that you rarely see masculine cards in card idea sections, and if you do then they usually have a car, fishing rod, football or boat somewhere. Here's one I made today. It's a digital/normal hybrid and I'm really pleased with it. Not a card, boat, football or fishing rod in sight :o)
