Tag, Hearts and Flowers Challenge PLUS Free Word Circle # 5

Adele set her first Sunday challenge over on Dottie's World, and a great challenge it is too. Adele wanted the following:

"I want to see tags, tags of any shape or size. It could be tag shape toppers, gift tags, tag books....and because we have just celebrated our wedding anniversary....I want to see hearts and flowers too!!!"

Well here was the perfect excuse for making another Word Circle Sentiment for you! I made this one into a large tag and embellished with a coloured Mum to Be Dottie from the "Love and Marriage" download bundle. The background is rather generic in greens and yellows; blue and pink have also been used including on the edge of the circle where half is inked pink and the other half blue - assuming this new mummy to be does not know the gender of her child.

Also used:
  • Cuttlebug Heart Blocks Embossing folder
  • Imaginisce Baby Powder Paper , ribbon, large crystal brad and flower
  • K&Co Berry Sweet Adhesive borders (the monkeys)
  • Small Pink/Blue/GreenBasic Grey brads in my doodled Heart Flower border and large pink and Blue BG brads

.....and here is your sentiment circle (copyrighted for personal use only).

I am going to make you a couple of circles for a new baby boy and a new baby girl next week so watch this space.

I'm Back - and Sentiment Circle # 4

First of all - WOW! Your response to the blog candy has been fantastic! I'll pick a winner ASAP. Thanks for all your lovely comments, I look forward to visiting your blog over the next few days. I haven't closed it yet so if you want to be in with a chance to get the pads then just leave a comment. I am going to put on some more candy very soon as you seem to like it xx

Well, it's been a terrible week with computer problems galore! My Internet connection has been down and now neither of my CD drives are working! Sometimes I feel like just throwing the damn box out of the window! So that'll be my Saturday then trying to fix that.

I was meant to have set last Sunday's Challenge on Dottie's World but then of course my computer put a stop to that. My challenge was "Pretty in pink" with lots of pink pink PINK and also some sort of jewel(s)/charm(s)/or beads. The girls created some stunning projects as always. Here is my DT card, that of course never found it's way to Dottie's World. The Christmas tree and Dottie on ice is from the Christmas Download Bundle. Actually I ended up with two versions, one with two circles (one a Dovecraft Shaker Sticker) and white acrylic paint and glittery edges, and the second with just my own sentiment circle and no white edges. I added glittery effects on the card with crystal, soft pink and baby blue stickles. There are jewels on the tree and a snowman charm hanging from the pink raffia ribbon. The beads are in the "shaker version", so I manged to incorporate everything :o)

I also promised you another word circle sentiment before BT Broadband prevented me from posting it. I see that Juliet posted her fabulous example card on Dottie's World, but here are all the sentiments. As always they are for personal use only blah blah blah. Several formats as before, click on the image to open larger version then right-click/save picture.

Sentiment Circles

People really enjoy our class on creating word circles (see it here) and love using the sentiments contained within the Dottie and George Christmas bundle. They may however find it a tad difficult to combine the circle with other elements so I have created four sentiment "buttons" for you. These are free for you to use but the normal copyrights applies (not for commercial use blah blah blah). One will be posted each day over the following four days.

I have created several formats for whichever best suits your need. Click on the images below, right-click the larger version in the pop-up window and save to your computer.

And here is an example card made with the transparent coloured sentiment.

Cooking Dottie from the Dottie at Home collection. Imaginisce papers, chipboard corners and brads. The words on the circle have been coloured in with a Sakura Stardust pen. DCWV self-adhesive ribbon.

The paper is a double-sided one from the Imaginisce "All Kinds of Happy" birthday collection and has word circles on it! Couldn't get a more perfect paper to use with this sentiment. You can purchase the paper here. :o)

Double Challenge

It's a double challenge over on Dottie's World today where the Sunday challenge is to use a Charmed download and double the challenge with another elsewhere in blogland. I chose to double up with the challenge on Cute Card Thursday where the specs are as follows: "The two of us- we would like you to use two of something on your card, it could be 2 people, 2 animals or 1 of each". On my card I have not only used two of the download characters (Dottie and George), I have used the same image twice - on the front and then again on the inside of the card.
The idea of this card can be summed up by the wording on the card:

"Love Birds" (on the front)

"Separated we are mere shadows of ourselves, together we are complete (inside the card)"

The front depicting the love birds apart is therefore in very plain drab colours, with the inside literally bursting with bright colours when they are joined - depicting the anguish of being parted and the joy of being together.

This was like doing three cards in one go and it did take some time. I am really happy with the result though :o)

New Collection!

Louise Brigden has created a FABULOUS new collection for you all, namely the "Love & Marriage" Dottie and George collection. Hugely versatile, this bundle comprises images relating to love, engagement, wedding, anniversary, new baby, Christening.

Here are a few cards I made for the last Dottie's World Challenge where the requirements was "Aperture, Ribbon & doodling":

This first card has a square aperture behind which I placed scalloped squares embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The two papers used there are Basic Grey Blush "Sweetie" (the pink paper) and Imaginisce A Shore Thing "Getting Hotter need Water". The latter paper also covers the main card. Basic Grey Urban Couture Velvet Rick Rack, K&Co Hearts, Doodled Heart border, and last but not least "Puddle Love" image from the new Dottie & George collection completes the card. The layered image has largely been coated in Glossy Accent to enforce that "wet look"

This second card was just a quickie. It's quite a big card (A5) and it, once again, demonstrates how versatile these images are when it comes to resizing to your need; I was able to size this gorgeous "Dottie & George in Love" image to fit exactly inside this large oval aperture.

Doodled scribble border and organza ribbon. The butterflies are K&Co Smitten.

Everything is of course available at Charmed Cards & Crafts.. Click the download button for all the Dottie and George downloads.
