Hearts - and yep! I'm losing it!

OK so Saturday I was going to make a card for our digi challenge on Sunday, and indeed I did just that. The challenge was set by our lovely Gunn and she wanted to see HEARTS! Of course being a Charmed digi challenge the most important part was one of our own download images! I had a stack printed and stamped images and was sifting through them looking for one to use. I duly coloured in the one I chose and created my card. Only when I had finished did I realised I had failed the challenge by using a Sarah Kay stamp instead of one of the Charmed digi images. DOH @ ME big time!!! I hid away in the corner until now LOL Please do pop over to Dottie's World and join the challenge (but remember that Charmed image please).

I used my Martha Stewart Hearts Deep Edging punch for this one; first time I've used it and it's FAB! Love it.
Also on the front is Prima Lace for the bow, you can't see it here but I lightly covered parts of the bow in clear adhesive and added some crystal glamour dust - BlackPrima Crystals - Fancy Pants rub-on - Large Crinkled Roses which I sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer Mist - K&Co Sweet Talk Pearls and Red heart crystal - "I heart you" is from the reverse side of the Bo Bunny paper. I glazed the hearts that was part of the design on the paper on the front with Glossy Accent.

The paper is Bo Bunny Persuasion and perfect for Valentine and other romantic occasions. It is double-sided and I used one side for the front and the textual side to cover the inside. I cut both the heart on the front and the two inside with Nestabilities dies. The large chipboard flower inside is a Basic Grey Sugar Rush chipboard around which I wrapped some red fibre.

And the image alas is a Sarah Kay stamp which I coloured in with Copic markers.

GCD Studios

We received a shipment from GCD Studios last week and I have to say that the products are just gorgeous! Super value for money the flat double-sided papers retail for just 50p per sheet, and the speciality papers for 99p, and even the flat papers are textured! The embellishments are superb, high quality, in larger than average packets. If you love vintage and shabby you will love these. Here are just a few of the products, pop over to the main site to see more....

Leaf It

A great challenge for this Sunday on our digital download blog "Dottie's World". Lou set the challenge for us this week and she wants to see leaves, whether paper, fabric, stamped or real, plus of course a Charmed download...

I used one of the images from the new Sugar & Spice bundle for my card, and coloured it in with Copic markers:

Lots of leaves on there. The paper on the front is a leaf paper and the paper inside the card is the same design but bigger. I used the Basic Grey Origin 6x6 paper pad, where the designs are smaller than the 12x12 paper, on the front, and the 12x12 inside. All other leaves on here are K&Co Wild Saffron grand adhesions.

The sun was cut on my Quickutz Silhoutte and coloured with Copics and that gorgeous lace is Prima. Pearls are Blue Awning pearls coloured with Copics to get the bronze colour to coordinate with the Wild Saffron Leaves.

Quite simple inside but the paper is quite busy so anymore would be cluttered I think. used Nestabilities for the round shape and a Tim Holtz Paper Distresser for the rough edges of the actual card.

Pop over and see what the other design team members have created for your inspiration, and then join in so we can see your work.

CHA 2010

Saturday already! Crikey! Where did that week go? Been a mixed bag weather wise with grey days and sunny days, but no snowy days thank goodness. Business can't cope with another bout of "complete standstill"!

.On to much happier subjects, as we come, yet again, to CHA time; this is where all the manufacturers of the yummy stuff we like to play with come out to tempt us with even more yummy stuff to play with! I see that Basic Grey will be presenting FOUR new ranges, and here are sneak peeks from their CHA banners:

"Green at Heart"

"Cappella"

"Kioshi"

"Max & Whiskers"

They are not giving too much away there. The Basic Grey ranges are substantial these days with a myriad of coordinating products so it'll be interesting to see them all. When we get them you can find them here.

Bo Bunny have SIX new collections, here's something from each collection:

Sophie

Roughin It

Mama Razzi

Jazmyne

Flower Child

Paradise

What ya think? You will be able to see what we get in here - when we get it :-)

LOTS of Prima, wow those guys go to town! We should be getting our Prima order within the next week or so, so keep an eye out for that (here's our Prima department). There are some beautiful collections amongst our order, for example:

Flight of Fancy Collection - Pastishe Collection - Raspberry Tea Collection - Shabby Chic Collection - Strawberry Kisses Collection - Umbrella Collection - Watercolour Rainbow Collection - Belle Arte Collection - Debutantes Collection - Love Story Collection - Pebbles Collection - New - More Lace Ribbon -Say it in Crystals and Pearls Collections -New E-Line Flower and E-Line crystal and pearls collections ..and more.....

How can you NOT love Prima???

Plus there are loads more goodies from lots of other manufacturers; I could fill the blog with all the stuff I would love to have for the shop! What have you seen that you absolutely must have? What are you loving and desperate to get your crafty mitts on? I would love to know so leave a comment :-)

Bye for now and thanks for visiting ♥

Monochromatic

Bright and sunny here in London today and for the first time in I don't know how long, the first thing I did was NOT to put the heating on when I got up this morning! I know it could change at a drop of a hat but the sun does bring with it sweet memories of warmer days, and it would be so nice to be able to step outside your door without instantly freezing into a Madam Tussuad worthy replica of yourself! Don't ya think?

If you are feeling a little cold then stay inside and check out our challenge for this week on Dottie's World. I am giving a £10 voucher to one of the participants over there so why not pop over and join in?

The Sunday challenge this week was set by the lovely Gunn. Gunn wanted to see shades of white to cream with a little brown.

I adhered to the rules for the front but veered well away from the main road onto the beaten track for the inside:

Quite a nice contrast I think with the cool white hues on the front and the warm earthy colours inside.

Pop over and join in why don't ya, it's super fun :-)

Here is what I used for my card:
Image: Pixie available both as part of a download bundle and also as a Delectable clear stamps . I coloured her in with Copic markers. It looks like I used Gold Stickles on her wings but in actual fact I added a touch of brown hues and a little crystal Stickles.
Papers are the new Basic Grey Origin ({heart} that collection) and the white glitter paper is K&Co Smitten speciality paper. I used ivory plain cardstock for the base card.
I used Flowersoft Polar White for the petals on my Pixie.
Lots of Pearls. These were from the K&Co Blue Awning range but we have lots more at Charmed. The pearls inside I coloured with a Copic marker to get the colour I wanted but we have lots in all coloured (check out the e-line Prima pearls for value).
The inside elements are from the "Pieces" pack from the Basic Grey Origin range. This is something new in their collections, there's a similar pack for Sugar Rush too. I also used one of the new Canvas Tags (Origin again) for the front of my card.
The little heart rub-on inside is a Fancy Pants rub-on.
I really roughed up the edges and used my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser for the job.
The frame used as a centrepiece is a large white Basic Grey metal bookplate. I think it makes for a very special card.
Brads are Basic Grey
Mini Felt Fusion floral ribbon on the front
The Glittery paper was cut with one of my Martha Stewart Deep Edge punches.

I think that's it :-)

Have a great Sunday and thanks for popping by the Charmed corner of the Web ♥

Sketch, Hearts and a little distressing....

Another challenge card for Dottie's World DT. A super sketch challenge this time set by Nicole.

The card is also entered into Creative Card Crew Challenge - where the challenge was "distressing" and A Spoonful of Sugar, where the theme was "Hearts". The distressed element is the edges where I used my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, and a liberal use of my distress inks.

Here is the sketch from Nicole for Dottie's World:

Products used:
Image from the Sugar & Spice digi-stamp bundle. I coloured in with Copic Markers.
Paper: Basic Grey (Vintage Floral from the Sublime collection) and black plain cardstock
Bows are made from black satin ribbon. Flowers are K&Co paper flowers.
Sentiment is a rub-on - K&Co I think. The hearts are Fancy Pants rub-ons.
I always use Distress ink for edges etc
Pearls are Blue Awning pearls coloured with Copics to get the shade I wanted.
I used Nestabilities for the shapes and a Tim Holtz Paper Distresser for the rough edges.

Pop over and see what the other design team members have created for your inspiration. I hope you will join the challenge.

Thanks for popping by ♥
